Structured Settlements 4Real®Blog 2026

Structured settlements expert John Darer reviews the latest structured settlements and settlement planning information and news, and provides expert opinion and highly regarded commentary. that is spicy, Informative, irreverent and effective for over 20 years.

AAA Strategic Funding (www.strategicsc(dot)com/settlements.html) or AAA Strategic Capital Inc. takes a page from other factoring companies of its ilk, by misinforming consumers, and therefore is awarded its first Structured Settlement Advertising Wall of Shame. These stinkos, according to contact information posted on its website**, hail out of 56 Lafayette Avenue White Plains, NY 10603 although the company's name did not come up  in a search of business entities on the website of the New York Secretary of State.

First of all they are part of a group of ignoramouses who think you can be "awarded a settlement". Simply not true. You can be awarded damages by a jury or a judge. But if you settle it is a compromise!

Second the scenario that the stinkos describe suggests that you hire an attorney to sue the responsible party for your accident  (OK, good so far) or as they say "more than likely you sued your insurance company" Air Ball! Either these boobs are from Louisiana where you can actually sue an insurance company, you have a 'bad faith' case or they don't know jack. My money is on the the latter.

The blogging "stinkosauruses" describe that there is an agreement at the end of their "shaggy dog story" which includes an annuity that "is not going to change your life today". Do they think you're a moron? Where are you supposed to be in the settlememt negotiation process? Did you sign the agreement? Did the parties comply with Section 5-1702 of General Obligations Law in New York State which requires certain disclosures at the time a structured settlement is created?

But the Einstein factor kicks in when they say that "it appears those payments in the future your (sic) entitled to receive you are more or less locked into.". Of course there is no mention about your agreement to receive these structured settlement payments which have been customized (or as they say here in London "bespoke") for your needs.

But of course these guys come to the rescue with a stock picture of an MS Excel spreadsheet (or is that Lotus 1-2-3?) and regale us us with inaccurate statistics such as "preliminary research indicates that there are over 400,000 individuals who have been awarded settlements". I'd say there is nobody who has been awarded a settlement because you can't be awarded a settlement.

If you are someone who is thinking about doing business with these guys, run, don't walk! Someone who can't accurately articulate the legal foundation of his or business as well as understanding the core of what his/her prospective clients endure is probably not someone with whom it's worth doing business.

These guys need a "AAA Stratcrap roadmap"! Plus proper education on the legal fundamentals , the fundamentals of structured settlements, some role playing and an investment in some good copyrighting.
