Specious arguments are those having the ring of truth or plausibility but are actually fallacious.Today's winner of the Structured Settlements 4Real new "Specious Claim of The Day" is Peachtree Settlement Funding for this doozy.
"Our Peachtree team is dedicated to learning about your unique situation, and tailoring your lump sum payment to meet your needs"
I don't know about you, but this circular logic doozy is making me "dizzy…my head is spinning"**
So what? To paraphrase Shakespeare "A lump sum by any other name, would still stink like a lump sum". It ain't Saville Row! Presumably such bespoke service enables you to (1) tailor it so that you sell more structured settlement payment rights and get a bigger lump sum or (2) sell fewer structured settlement payment rights and get a smaller lump sum, (3) sell it all and then you get to make a new payment stream with the discounted proceeds, but without the tax advantages.
Just remember that Peachtree Settlement Funding (as do ALL the settlement transfer companies) offers you a discounted lump sum. When you take "cash now" you are giving up something significant and you NEVER, ever, ever, get ALL of your money.
One aspirin or two?
