The following headline appears on the Novation Capital website "Structured Settlements For Professionals: The right solution for you and your clients" and comes up near the top of many web searches about structured settlements While the statement is true on its face, its use in the context of the Novation Capital web page is , in my opinion, further evidence of an intentional baiting practice and further reason why the settlement factoring/settlement purchasing industry needs the reins pulled in a manner like the recent NAIC action on viatical settlements**. Don’t be a minnow! Don’t be a victim! Don’t let your clients be a victim! Read on and let’s explore this further…
Novation Capital IS NOT a structured settlement company, or an insurance licensed structured settlement broker. Novation Capital IS NOT a member of the National Structured Settlement Trade Association. Novation Capital IS NOT appointed with any structured settlement annuity market for the funding of structured settlements. Novation Capital IS NOT the leader in structured settlements. Novation Capital’s business IS NOT structured settlements*** but factoring of cash flows (i.e. cash now) , which include the rights to periodic payments from structured settlements.
Collectively, this and prior posts demonstrate Novation Capital’s continual pattern and practice of making specious claims about what it does with respect to structured settlements. These false unsubstantiated claims serve to confuse and mislead consumers by clogging or clouding information resources. Any reasonable person reading a headline like the one above is likely to thinking they are getting into something that is something entirely different when they land on the Novation Capital web page. The statement implies that structured settlements are the right solution then, in virtually the same breath, solicits the destruction of these vehicles.
Novation’s website states "We endeavor to conduct our business with integrity in every way". Perhaps they should try alot harder?
