If you or a member of your family has received an email, text or phone call from someone claiming to be:

Poop in a snow globe

Don't fall for the "poop in a snow globe" served up by scammers. Only deal with insurers and their appointed agents and brokers

  • Working closely with _______life insurance company; or
  • Working in conjunction with _________life insurance company

You might come across similar language in a proposal from someone or a company attempting to purchase your structured settlement payments. Ignore it completely, as it’s nothing but a scam..

Insurance companies have customer service teams and licensed agents or brokers to assist you. Verifying a license online is simple. In California, remember that a legitimate life insurance agent or broker is required to include their license number on proposals.

Anyone who is texting, emailing or calling you using "poop in a snow globe" should be ignored. These actors may try to scare you by saying your account has been suspended or put on hold unless you call them. It's rubbish.

We're in the process of identifying the sources of such texts and making such information available to the insurance companies whose names they are using to solicit business under false pretenses. There should be no tolerance for such dishonest and unethical business practices.
