David Springer, the ex-CEO of defunct settlement purchasing intermediary Sovereign Funding Group,  filed a complaint last month with the Better Business Bureau over services allegedly not provided by H&R Block. Why should anyone care?

David Springer alleges In his BBB complaint against H&R Block,

The first time that I used H&R Block back in 2007 I went into sticker shock when they charged me $450.00 to prepare the taxes for my small home business.

Inconsistency

Yet in March 2007, Sovereign Funding Group, Springer “Home based business” stated the following on its website according to a contemporaneous screen shot:

“With over fifteen years of industry experience SFG has become a nationwide industry leader by offering higher payments and providing vastly superior customer service to our customers.”    The way Springer describes it a decade later, begs the question of whether “a nationwide industry leader” is like the King of an industry of molecules in a demi-tasse teaspoon? Or was it really a leader of an industry?

The Mt. Airy Faker Revival (a/k/a The Shifting Sands Part Two)(a/k/a “The Shifting Sands Part Two”)

Beginning In 2012, Springer provided and maintained fraudulent information with the Better Business Bureau of Greater Maryland, intentionally misrepresenting as names of officers of Sovereign Funding, individuals that, according to Springer’s own legal testimony, did not exist. And this was all public facing to consumers. Made for, if anything. “entertaining” discovery in a lawsuit against Springer from 2011-2015 brought by a then competitor, and provided a backdrop to the “Maryland Cauldron of Deceit” in structured settlements that led to sweeping reforms.

  • Springer stated he worked at Robert Half from September 2011-2015
  • No mention of any law degree.  On October 6, 2011, Sovereign Funding posted an ad falsely promoting Springer as a lawyer
  • No mention of Sovereign Funding
  • States Amble Media CEO since 2015
  • No Mention of1st Guaranty Ads  2013-2016
  • No mention of Lifetime Capital Partners 2011-2012

The 2012 LinkedIn stated Sovereign Funding was from 2002!

Mentions Senior VP Lifetime Capital Partners also shows on MyLife.com.Talk about “whirly gigs”!

Why can’t David Springer just be honest about his job experience?
