David Springer of Mt. Airy, MD, was misrepresented as a lawyer in a Sovereign Funding Group advertisement still posted on YouTube, an apparent attempt to attract business at the expense of genuine, qualified attorneys and competitors in the structured settlement factoring industry.

Yet in an epic case of being “hoisted on his own petard”, here’s the still airing Sovereign Funding video, which falsely promoted David Springer as a lawyer, featuring Fiverr actress “Old Bitty Grandma” (also known as RiceCrispyJoJo Twitter) who says at 0:27-0:30
“David Springer is an honest attorney that cares. Don’t get caught up with those other lawyers”
and THEN says at 0:49 -0:57
” Get David Springer to represent you, if you do it will really pay off, you’ll see”
David Springer has been involved in several lawsuits over unfair trade practices
At the time of the aforementioned video David Springer had been served by JG Wentworth in a Maryland state action that was later settled March 2, 2012. At the time of posting David Springer and Sovereign Funding Group were Defendants in a lawsuit in the United States District Court for the District of Maryland brought by Woodbridge Structured Funding in November 2011. A bench trial took place during August 2014 and Springer was found liable.
Despite claiming that Sovereign Funding Group ceased operations in their June 2012 response to the Woodbridge complaint, we have documentation to prove that David Springer used a sovereignfunding.com email address for outbound email for some time after that. Moreover, the address that was purported to be the Sovereign Funding Group address, turned out to be a mailbox in a UPS store in Rockville MD taken out by David Springer on June 13, 2012.
A bizarre flock of phony names and academic titles paraded as Sovereign Funding staff, only to turn out to be nothing more than David Springer in a one-man masquerade

Is this something that more regulation of the structured settlement secondary market can cure?
