Sovereign Funding Group and David Springer, caught in a plot twist worthy of a sitcom
Forced to admit that some so-called employees were as real as imaginary friends, after Woodbridge Structured Funding noticed their depositions in a lawsuit in the United States District Court for the District of Maryland.
[see PACER, 7/22/2013 Opposition to Motion for Protective Order Document 76 p8]. In the July 18, 2013 deposition of Josue Benitez, Woodbridge counsel Michael S. Wrona of Halloran & Sage states “He (David Springer) has admitted that he (David Springer) is the only employee who has ever worked for Sovereign” [ Ibid Exhibit B Deposition Transcript p 35 lines 2-4]. David Springer was deposed during the last week of June 2013.
The question of whether or not James Goldstein, Karen Jones, Sandy Jackson and James Spelling were real has been a hot topic for the structured settlement watchdog. It is unclear from the legal documents posted on PACER which of these alleged employees were noticed to be deposed.
In the past 6 months I have demonstrated among other things, that:
- Stock Photos of Fake CEO Images of “James Goldstein” which are used to promote the business of Sovereign Funding Group and his purported roles at various times as its Principal, President or Senior VP, are stock photos which are purchased from a library.
- Bogus Credentials That the academic credentials of “James Goldstein”, “Karen Jones” and “James Spelling” are bogus
- Fake Employees Endorse Springer and Other Fake Employees That one purported but fake Sovereign Funding Group employee endorsed another purported but fake Sovereign Funding Group employee on LinkedIn. And in a furtive move tomake it look more real, one fake employee “whispered” encouraging words to another in an online public forum.
- Pulling the Wool Over the Eyes of BBB of Greater Maryland That from mid-June 2012, until approximately a week ago, when “the cat was out of the bag” and David Springer was re-added, the only contacts on the Sovereign Funding Group Better Business Bureau report by Maryland BBB were fake. While David Springer’s name was re-added the fake identities were still on there at the time of original posting. Hmmm. The BBB report says “it has nothing to report concerning Sovereign Funding Group’s advertising at this time”
