AnnuitySold, helmed by Owings Mills High School pals Richart Ruddie and Ryan Blank, was caught playing a little too loosely with the rulebook, landing in hot water with the Maryland Attorney General in 2018. Their creative interpretations of legality earned them a 7-year timeout from doing business in Maryland for fraud, plus a bill for victim restitution. Yet, in a plot twist worthy of a sitcom, these former structured settlement scoundrels proved there were no hard feelings about my sharp commentary—going so far as to compliment me on my pandemic weight loss journey.
Apparently, word traveled fast to Richart Ruddie and Ryan Blank about my 83-pound (and counting) pandemic weight loss, and “Annuity Sold Knows John Darer is a Loser” somehow made its way onto a few international internet sites with Italian and Ukrainian flair. The flood of congratulations began on October 3, 2020. I’m thrilled to have shed 83 pounds and more than happy to connect aspiring “losers” with my coach.
