Novation Settlement Solutions, a DBA for Novation Funding LLC, "pledged" $250,000 in advances in anticipation of Hurricane Irma.  Here's the kicker. "Anyone in these states with a qualifying structured settlement or annuity can immediately receive up to $1500 to assist with their hurricane recovery, preparation and/or evacuation efforts. Novation is urging anyone in need of an advance to contact them as soon as possible, as the Florida-based company may also be impacted by Hurricane Irma.

So it isn't really a pledge.  You need to have a structured settlement payments to sell at what may be a horrific discount (ask Cedric Martinez Thomas). So basically what's going down is a gimmick to hook you earlier, in a weakened state of panic over an impending storm that could devastate everything you own.
