A settlement purchaser who I debriefed about last month's National Association of Settlement Purchasers ("NASP" ) annual meeting in Las Vegas observed that one of the frank concerns expressed by a participant on
the judicial panel was the sour taste when it is obvious that the attorney has coached a prospective seller of structured settlement payment rights to lie at the approval hearing.
I don't think any further commentary is needed.
