We've all heard the saying "kill them with kindness", but how about this insurance adjusters and defense attorneys for a major excess insurance underwriter?
Your structured settlement broker learns who the plaintiff attorney is through YOU and then ex-parte, without your knowledge waltzed on two occasions, unannounced into your adversary's office to bestow gifts of (1) cookies and (2) a Starbucks gift card. I understand that the defense broker had never met the plaintiff lawyer before.
Is this a bad ethics violation? Is this something you would condone? And aren't you pissed that you didn't get any of those yummy vittles? By the way our source tells us that this IS a true story.
With regard to this incident the broker in question clearly was a
. From what I understand the plaintiff lawyer considered his actions a quite goofy
, so the broker's strategy was a total loser from A to Z. Further, lord only knows what if the relationship of the broker with his "national account" client if the "national account" client ever finds out, would be a matter of "see ya latte". I won't turn him in but maybe his conscience will.
