The Splog "Structured Settlement News" blog  (which came up under the search term "structured settlement company") doesn't come even close to getting it right. The featured "hot news" is about organic flowers but frankly I think it is organic waste. Nothing at all to do with structured settlements in the featured article. The rest of this page is just peppered with ads. Not a worthwhile source for information about structured settlements.

Splog means Spam-Blog

Sploggers should be banned and their pay per click profits disgorged. Sploggers contribute nothiung to consumer confusion by hogging search engine results with information unrelated to the key word search term that the consumer is hoping will connect him or her with help with a potentially life impacting decision.

"Structured settlements" is such a popular key word that on some days it's possible to see the pair of words used in connection with any product from dogs and puppies to hamburgers and hot dogs (no pun intended). It's ridiculous!

I agree with you 100%. What can be done to stop this form of advertising?

There needs to be enforcement of truth in advertising regulations on both a state and local level. Furtheremore there needs to be a crack down on marketers who are advertising in a particular state in which they do not possess a certificate of authority. There also needs to be a licensing requirement for factoring companies in relation to the transfer of insurance products. Many states already have it for life settlements and viaticals.
With respect to the sploggers some of the domain name registrars are offering anonymity for a price which sploggers are taking advantage of. Litigation may be necessary to get this information. I have already outed a number of people on the blog and will continue to do so.
