CBC Settlement Funding tied to bogus NLRBFCU.org site with a fictitious editor in chief
CBC Settlement Funding appears to be involved in and potentially benefiting financially from a fraud targeting structured settlement consumers through the NLRBFCU.Org website.
- As I’ve documented, the NLRBFCU.Org site was recently acquired and features what seems to be a fictitious individual, Laura Bushnell, as its editor-in-chief.
- The NLRNFCU.Org website has undergone at least four name changes within a year, with the most recent being “NL Brand Reviews.”
- A phone number associated with CBC Settlement Funding is the sole contact on the site, though it cannot be reached from certain regions.
- Earlier today(time of original posting) I completed a form on the NLRBFCU.Org website and within seconds I received a response from CBC Settlement Funding as you can see clearly below.
The National Association of Settlement Purchasers claims to be the only professional trade organization for participants in the secondary market for structured settlements. NASP furthe states ” we are dedicated to ensuring the secondary market for structured settlement transfers remains fair, competitive, and transparent.” .
NASP has failed by continuing to allow CBC Settlement Funding to remain a member, contrary to its public commitments. Additionally, Sutton Park, led by CEO Steve Pasko, oversees CBC Holdings, LLC—the company that acquired CBC Settlement Funding—and has been financially supporting NASP for years. NASP’s President, Fred Love, is also linked to Sutton Park Capital.
Fred Love, is this what your NASP organization stands for?
