New York congresswoman Louise Slaughter, a senior member of Congress together with Chris Van Hollen of Maryland have requested a Department of Justice investigation into allegations of predatory financial schemes that target victims of lead poisoning.
The two lawmakers, Representatives Louise Slaughter (D-NY) and Chris Van Hollen (D-MD). Their letter to US Attorney General Loretta Lynch pushes for an investigation into potentially predatory tactics outlined in the Washington Post in an exposé titled “Cashing in off poor lead-poisoning victims” . The Washington Post expose focused on Chevy Chase settlement purchaser Access Funding, LLC.
The letter from the two representatives of Congress suggest the arc of the radar sweep may be enlarged. Van Hollen was rumored to have remarked "And the cradle will rock".
