StructuredSettlement Firms.ORG bills itself as "the definitive directory showcase connecting periodic payment recipients, investors, plaintiffs and lump sum seekers with settlement companies, insurance or financial industry professionals and attorneys".

In a case of first impression the website's Navagation (sic) Panel stimulates a ROFLMAO. In my opinion there is nothing elegant about associating your or your firm's good name with a sparsely populated "directory" run by an anonymous person or entity that is replete with inaccuracy and comical typos. A few well placed images of ionic columns on the website does nothing to mask the "look of flub" (cue Burt Bacharach's "Look of Love" performed by the excellent Matt Otten for background music)

The Look of Flub

Is in Your Site

The Look Your "Art" Can't Disguise

The Look of Flub

Is saying so much more

Than words could ever say

According to structuredsettlementfirms.org "The public, for the most part, have become Internet savy (sic) information hounds, which has transformed marketing and advertising in several industries" Bloodhound_scratching_lg_clr

"What Up" Information Dawg?

They go on to say "At a time when the number of structured settlement company annuity providers has diminished from dozens of firms to less than ten and the companies that remain appear to be apprehensive about their advertising and marketing commitment to raise public, plaintiff and attorney awareness across North America and beyond, Structured Settlement Firms.org is providing an elegant and extreamly (sic) cost effective solution

Comment: There are more than 10 structured settlement annuity providers" in 2011.

"Feature rich" for subscribers,  structuredsettlementfirms.org  says that "The structured settlement broker and consultant directory is segemented (sic) by state".

But then they ask, "Are you a representive of a Structured Settlement Company, or are you a Financial Industry Professional, Broker or Attorney ?Man_riding_roulette_wheel_md_clr

Do you serve those who…

  • have won the lottery, sweapstakes (sic) or at the casino and would like to consider all of the options available for payment or investment?"

With this "Look of Flub" one realizes that your world is INDEED "full of strange arrangements" however, in this case LEVITY will pull you through:

You can also "Discover a certified financial planner or personal financing professional in the directory to discuss buying a structured settlement or a lottery payment annuity as part of your investment strategy. This is becomming (sic) an increasingly popular way to realize better returns than CD's and other "safe" investments".

The structured settlement watchdog continues to opine that structured settlement brokers, consumers and attorneys, funding professionals and others steer clear of directories and websites that

  • Fail to clearly state a mailing address
  • Have masked a website registration so that its origin cannot be easily determined
  • Fail to list a contact phone number
  • The Facebook link leads to a non sequitur Eco Friendly Emporium
  • The Twitter link leads to a name with neither tweets, nor followers or follows
  • Lists a handful of structured settlement brokers (to feign credibility), one of whom just told me that his name was used WITHOUT authorization and that 3 emails to the company have gone unresponded to.
