More than one of my settlement industry colleagues proudly lists membership in the National Association of LIfe Underwriters (NALU) on his/her CV. The problem is that the name NALU has not been in existence for over a decade. NALU was founded in 1890 and, in 1999, was rebranded as the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA)
Naturally, such a poor display of "staying updated" raises the obvious question of just how up-to-date those paddling up the "NALU river" really are on the topics they claim to be experts in.
Come on folks, stop the insanity, this stuff isn't THAT hard to figure out!
