Peachtree Settlement Funding's advertising solicitation "structured settlement mailbox" is an outrage.
Peachtree Settlement's "cash now" solicitation contains an unrealistic and exaggerated portrayal of an upright twenty something man who progressively ages into a cripple, in what appears to be a rickety wooden wheelchair, while waiting for what appears to be years for his structured settlement payments and his house falls apart. The bent mail box lever is "a nice touch".
The fact is that we live in an age where direct deposit is available so there should be no reason why any annuitant should have to go through what the Peachtree Settlement Funding "cash now" solicitation portrays.
What is also known to be "exaggerated" are Peachtree's effective discount rates, the effective rates charged to consumers to bring the future payments to present value to determine the amount of cash that they do not necessarily get now.
Other Peachtree ads suggest you can get your cash today. Structured settlement factoring transaction must be approved by a Court. The process does not happen today. In the past the company has falsely advertised that it can provide ALL of your money now.
Consumers need to get their arms around this fact that is often omitted in factoring company advertsing, IF you decide to sell your structured settlement payment rights YOU WILL NEVER GET ALL OF YOUR MONEY
