J.G. Wentworth has laid off 120 employees according to a report in today's Philadelphia Business Journal, citing a required filing with the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry.
According to the J.G. Wentworth website the "cash now pusher" went from 100 employees in 2005 to 200 employees in 2006. Now in 2008 there appears to be a SIGNIFICANT CONTRACTION in its workforce.
One wonders if this has anyting to do with S&P's recent downgrade of J.G. Wentworth to CCC+ (junk status)
Has the fat lady begun to warble?
