Burning the midnight oil here getting ready to fly out to Austin in the morning and lo and behold the new and ubiquitous JG Wentworth commercial is on the telly.
Yes, the one where some slacker gets "aroused" as if Mr. Wentworth were Tony Robbins and ignites a sequence of other goofballs who yell out "it’s my money I need it now". Like Clearscape Funding’s erstwhile rasta "dude you got a lump sum dude" the use of robust looking models (instead of a more realistic and diverse group that better reflect the structured settlement recipient population) demonstrates a company that is both making boatloads of money and out of touch.
Rumour has it that certain structured settlement and settlement planning industry interests, who actually do proper settlement planning for tort victims, are producing a send up of Wentworth showing various tort victims sitting in a rotating sushi bar. On each plate that passes before them is a dish full of cash at a 24/7 "all you can eat" buffet. The "gluttony"continues until they’re full when the maitre d leans over to remind them that this cash flow continues 24/7. (regardless of the market), leaving the tort victims to groan, "IT’S MY MONEY AND I DON’T NEED IT NOW!"
