Prosperity Partners Inc. deserves mention today for its portayal of itself as a "leader in the cash flow industry". Its competitors JG Wentworth and Novation Capital, who have inaccurately themelves portayed themselves respectively as "the leader" and "a leader" "in the stuctured settlement industry" and JG Wentworth’s advertising agency, DMI partners of Philadelphia PA, should take note.
I previously came down hard on Properity Partners for previous advertising practices but they have taken the message and run with it in a positive way. I encourage other factoring and cash flow companies to do the same.
In the past few years factoring and cash flow companies have aggressively tried to position themselves as being in the structured settlement industry to capitalize on the value of keywords "structured settlement", "structured settlements" and other related structured settlement industry descriptive words. Besides being inaccurate and confusing to consumers this strategy has begun to backfire and will continue to impact such companies as government regulators, insurance commissoners, the media and consumer advocates increasingly become more aware of the practice and its impact on them or their constituents.
