Nicholas John Jackson, a factoring intermediary “dreamcatcher” from Annapolis Missouri, contends that “Everyone with an existing structured settlement dreams of the day they can “cash out”.
Top Money Concern in 2012: Retirement Financing
In 2012, the single most prominent money-related worry among Americans was not having enough to finance retirement.
- A Pew Research Center survey found that 38% of adults said they were “not too” or “not at all” confident they would have enough income and assets for retirement, up sharply from 25% in 2009 this concern was especially acute among adults in their late 30s (close in age to Jackson) many of whom were the children of the Baby Boomer generation and had experienced steep losses in household wealth.
- Pew’s analysis showed that 53% of adults aged 36–40 doubted their retirement finances, compared to 34% of those 60–64 .
Considering that the stats of the dominant purchaser of structured settlement receivables with the largest market share, suggests that less than 10% do “cash out”, then the statement Jackson made is illogical and uninformed. Why someone that is trying to gain credibility in the marketplace would use an absolute like “everyone”, when there is plenty to disprove them, is the question.
