My April 8, 2006 post, that led to the Patrick Hindert's first episodic "OTT", concerned a December 30, 2006 blog post about structured settlement commutations by "Knowledge Management at Work" author Denham Grey. If you carefully read the comments to Grey's blog post you will see that the commenter, David Locke, does not appear to comprehend who is behind the Robert Wood comments or the big picture. Locke, who also has spell check and punctuation issues, mistakenly attributes it to insurance company "weasels". Here's the direct quote, as posted on Denham Grey's blog, dated in January 2007.
- "So the insurance companies have found a new way to weasel out of their responsibilities, whose (sic) surprised.
- I'm sure a mind map will make a difference to the receipents (sic) of settlements. "Yeah, Joe, is (sic) shows me right here in this diagram how I got screwed," KM at its best.
- The insurance companies write the laws, so what do you expect, and since when was a contract a contract?
- Commutation wasn't an issue in S2** the last time I was involved with it. It is just an example of the explication of knowledge. It emmerged (sic). But, did KM have anything to do with it, or was it the greed of one single attorney somewhere? "
In my opinion, if Hindert's pal Denham Grey actually knew what he was doing about structured settlements he would have responded sensibly to the reader's comments. Instead he did nothing. Neither did "his knight in shining armor" Hindert!
The end result is we now have more absolute crap on structured settlements out there on the Internet, written by a guy who specializes in "knowledge management", who has no bona fides regarding structured settlements (other than helping "Hindered" to build a wiki (or is it wookie?), opining about stuff he knows little about, who allows comments by someone who clearly does not have comprehension of the subject matter, to be published without response.
Is the "guru" of "knowledge management" a manager or a compiler? What use is "knowledge management" to the consumer, or collaborator, if there is no added value?
The above referenced "S2" "KM" "wookie" contains splogs and websites of non structured settlement bona fides, like Amit Laufer, which now have broken or expired links. For wikis to be a useful reference they need to be constructed less like giant landfills which absorb every bit of refuse associated with the topic.
