I’ve received numerous calls recently from people who have received checks ranging in value from $90 to over $1,000 who want to know whether or not the check is real. If you are receiving payments from an Athene structured settlement (formerly Aviva or CGU), set up prior to the end of 2008, then you have received the check as part of a class action settlement.

Some people are on the verge of throwing it out because they think it’s junk mail [no thanks to the structured settlement secondary market ]
