A structured settlement secondary market, bereft of regulation of sales practices and business conduct, came to light recently as a California man was subjected to F-Bombs and insults in texts by an alleged representative of an East Coast structured settlement factoring company.
I am posting a copy of the text to the California annuitant, which purportedly came from a "one man goon squad" with the email address bmadeira@icloud.com. The missive was in reference to a then pending Riverside County structured settlement factoring transaction that has recently funded. Bear in mind that the solicitation and business practices of participants in the structured settlement factoring business is unregulated. Nobody is licensed and many are not even registered to do business in the states where communications like the one below take place.
