I was way too kind to Annuity.org in my previous post.  Behind the informative front of Annuity.org is the naughty side, which is purportedly behind the spam lead generation campaign for CBC Settlement Funding that I mentioned in my previous post. Dreamstime_xs_50678521

On the one hand Annuity.org makes the debatable claim that it is the premier informational resource on the Internet about annuities and structured settlement  [ a point that is easily disputed] and on the other hand it is, according to my source,  responsible for the spam campaign.  The spam campaign, I was informed the morning following my post, has now been cancelled "because it was not generating quality leads".  NO surprise there.

Annuity.org, associated with Orlando, Florida based Annuity.org LLC,  clearly advertises that it is a partner of CBC Settlement Funding on its website. Furthermore its about page features a building with CBC Settlement Funding on its edifice.

While one can acknowledge the purported cancellation of the spam marketing campaign has been confirmed useless by our source,  due to the clear and ongoing marketing relationship between CBC Settlement Funding and Annuity.org it is not possible to separate the actions of Annuity.org from CBC to assign blame.

The root of the problem today is the structured settlement buyers who are outsourcing to marketing networks in an effort to optimize search engine results and drive callers. It's bad enough that the structured settlement buyers in general may be insinuating themselves as financial advisers,  structured settlement consultants or structured settlement planners without the requisite credentialing or applicable licensing.  But the use of marketing networks seems to give some of these firms a false sense of bravado to commit all sorts of acts and conduct business activity that will eventually be exposed.

I am aware of a number of members of the National Association of Settlement Purchasers (NASP) who use such marketing networks. Some marketing networks are based overseas, or if not based overseas  use domain registrations in countries outside the Hague Service Convention combined with anonymous domain registration to evade detection for the onslaught of spam, brand-jacking or whatever
