Most search terms come up with pages and pages of this nonsense. The landing pages include paragraph after paragraph of repetitive sentences and the tell tale toll free number and tags that include CBC competitor Novation Ventures LLC, displayed as “novation cash structured settlements” and also mentioned Genex Capital property QMAP (quote me a price).
Structured Settlement Cash Now Soap Opera
Channeling a bit of Perez Hilton here, in the head spinning structured settlement cash now soap opera, CBC Settlement Funding is run by alumni of JG Wentworth, which is being sued in California by Novation Ventures LLC, who is themselves being sued by a Florida man over alleged violations of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA).
Each of the following internet domains displays the toll free number of 855-601-8828 which led to CBC Settlement Funding voice mail at the time of posting.

All of the websites were registered privately, some using a service that is based in Panama, outside of the reach of the Hague Service Convention.
The structured settlement consumer deserves the clearest path to valid information about structured settlements, not useless spam
What’s the problem CBC?
I thought CBC Settlement Funding was interested in providing real structured settlement information useful to consumers. When they apparently cut an exclusive deal with the owners of annuity.org it seemed that a decent example was being set. Perhaps I was wrong to think that. Their new approach is not consumer friendly, in my opinion, and is even lacking originality. They appear to simply aspire to be JRR Funding’s Einstein brand. Einstein pulled the same nonsense in 2014. Let’s at least give credit where credit is due.
Other spam domain registrations have popped up in search results in the last 4 months, using more expensive gTLDs such as those with .science extensions.
A Canadian named Blaine Thompson from Cranbrook British Columbia, was the registrant of several sites such as structuredsettlementbuyoutexpert.com that according to online sources, derive traffic through deceptive “doorway pages”, the concept a relic of the Sovereign Funding webuypayments.net saga that led to multiple lawsuits. Once the news of Blaine Thompson’s involvement appeared on the complaint site Pissed Consumer.com, it was observed that the domain registrations were changed to someone else as the “shells” were moved. One of the most comical observations about Thompson’s spam foray was the invalid implication that Canadian structured settlements could be sold.
It may unfortunately now be necessary to track “who’s who” in the anonymous lead generation spam activities and to out whoever is doing it. While it may not be illegal, it is a bad business practice that doesn’t help consumers and certainly “sheds more blight” on the industry of settlement purchasers and structured settlement buyers. It will certainly be useful to show to lawmakers.
