David Springer CEO of Mt Airy MD based Sovereign Funding Group and its WeBuyPayments cloaking/redirect scheme was at the center of two lawsuits and was one of a series of brandjacking initiatives targeting insurance and structured settlement brands that sprang up in the mid 2011 to 2012
The Structured Settlement Watchdog investigated the business relationships between those engaging in this behavior.
The so-called webuypayments.net cloaking/redirect scheme was controlled by David Springer of Mt. Airy MD and Sovereign Funding Group according to a May 25, 2012 email I received from Nicholas John Jackson, who work
ed for Sovereign Funding Group, at all relevant times in 2011 and continued until March 2012, according to his LinkedIn profile.
Background on WeBuyPayments.Net Cloaking/Redirect Scheme
- Beginning in or about June 2011, the consumer information highway for many structured settlement related search terms and brands on line was suddenly choked with “dandelions” of diversion intended to feed traffic to the David Springer owned webuypayments.net

- Download landing page screenshot http___webuypayments 7-22-2011 A customer named “Jessie James” is quoted. Not clear if Springer meant the outlaw from the old West or the porn star.
- It is believed that David Springer also owned webuypayments.com as the Facebook page in 2011 listed David and Melissa Springer’s former home address in 10430 Fair Oaks in Columbia, MD https___www.facebook webuypayments dot net shows Springer old addresss 9-12-2013
- The address was used by Sovereign Funding Group as recently as this year when one of David Springer’s admitted fake female personae stated in January 2013 on her (his-Springer’s) Google Plus that she had to speak to management about the address change.

“They were set up by Kathryn (Sias) for him as a way to share information and he took control of the domains, sent all the traffic to SFG for a while, then cut them loose again. He even redirected it to a site that I own for God knows what reason. It’s almost like (David Springer is) some stupid sneaky kid that tries very obvious stuff to make himself to look bad and get in trouble, but tries to tie other people in any way he can. I think that’s why he sent the sites-the old Traffic Power ones from years ago that were only found last year-to your site**. He hates you and blames you for all his trouble…. so to sum up webuypayments, it was just one of his old spam sites from a long time ago he wanted Kathryn to assist him on”.

** on October 7, 2011, two days following receipt of a May 5, 2011 cease and desist letter from Woodbridge Structured Funding, giving David Springer until October 7, 2011 to act, many links that had previously been directed to webuypayments.net were redirected to our site where they remained for 2 weeks.
