As someone who markets himself as a structured settlement and settlement planning expert as opposed to a plaintiff expert or defense expert I've observed an associate of Millennium Settlements, Inc. working for defendants or insurers on a case where I have been retained by plaintiffs, and others who are currently soliciting work from defendants in online marketing material. Hold it! Wait for the ambient noise of the industry purists' bellyaching.
While, I obviously see absolutely nothing wrong with contructing a "balanced" business model. the Millennium website states (November 4, 2011 at 215pm Eastern time) "Our goal remains the same – to lead the industry by serving injured plaintiffs, their families and their legal representatives better, and more comprehensively, than anybody else can". There is no mention of serving defendants on the Millennium website.
Yet the Paragon Settlement Group website, which notes its affiliation with Millennium Settlements, Inc. on each page of its website (and whose consultants are simultaneously listed on the Millennium website), advertises "Paragon settlement consultants work closely with the defendants and their attorneys, at no cost, to ensure that the financial needs of the injured party are met through the use of a structured settlement".

As a random fish thought to himself when he saw the hook… "who's this 'wiggler' "?
In my opinion, any reasonable person seeing a masthead that states the leading provider of structured settlement to plaintiffs would believe that the company does not do defense work.
Is Millennium changing its marketing approach?
