Steven Craig, Woodland HIlls Structured Settlement Broker R.I.P.

I was saddened today to learn of the sudden passing of Steven Craig, a Woodland HIlls, California settlement planner, industry colleague and friend who died on Sunday May 15, 2011.  Steve was an extraordinarily bright and articulate professional and was the author of “The Use of Nonqualified Structured Settlements in the Sale of Capital Assets”, one the authoritative works on structured sales published in the Journal of the Society of Financial Service Professionals.

Steve was a perfect foil for "the structured settlement watchdog. While he delighted in my work, I was equally delighted that he appreciated my humor and "got it". Ethics were very important to Steven Craig and I am grateful for his input over the years on thorny issues regarding ethics in the structured settlement industry. Steve was never afraid to go out on a limb for what he perceived was for the betterment of the industry.

Coincidentally on Sunday night I was in the Stamford Hospital Emergency Room where my father was ailing. I only wish that Steve' s outcome was the same. Nice to have known you pal.

Shalom Steve!

Thank you for passing along the info about Steve Craig. I indirectly got him interested in structured settlements. He was in my class to receive the MSFS from the American College over 20 years ago and immediately became friends. We had dinner together almost every night and stayed in touch. It took a few more years but Steve got into the structured settlement business and his education, ethics and concern for the client were an asset to the industry.
