We all make mistakes and I’m no exception. But some of us are mature enough once we know we’ve made a mistake, to correct that mistake. Fair is fair and on more than one occasion when shown that I have been wrong on something I have corrected what I have written.
Several months ago Jack Meligan, President of Settlement Professionals, Inc., a plaintiff loyal settlement planner, wrote a blog about me which contained defamatory allegations. Mr. Meligan was asked to prove what he wrote about me or to retract what he wrote. He has done neither. Meligan’s employee, Trevor Mauch, promoted the blog post containing the unproven defamatory allegation to trial lawyers through the social medium Digg.Com even though Meligan knew it to false.
It is therefore evident that Jack Meligan’s sole intent was to use the Internet in competition with me in the possible hope to benefit Meligan, the members of his company Settlement Professionals, Inc. and others who call themselves "plaintiff loyal settlement planners" who were unnerved by my maverick attempt to clean up the structured settlement business by securing voluntary sworn declarations designed to highlight for trial lawyers, plaintiffs, the judiciary and insurers, those settlement planners and structured settlement whose business did not involve an insipid practice harmful to tort victims, their attorneys and even insurers See Structured Settlement Clean Vendor List and FAQ about the Structured Settlement Clean Vendor List.
Frankly it has puzzled me why someone like Jack Meligan, the founding President of the Society of Settlement Planners, who holds himself out to be a plaintiff loyal settlement planner, would put so much energy into an attempt to stifle efforts to clean up a "plaintiff disloyal business practice", so pervasive in the settlement planning industry when he wrote his blog that one payer cited that 90% of its clientele participated in the "plaintiff disloyal business practice". Further it is a business practice that HAS been proven to take money from the very financial security that Jack Meligan promotes to trial lawyer that he and his "plaintiff loyal structured settlement company" are duty bound to protect.
Inasmuch as Meligan has been unable to prove a statement that he claimed that he has "first hand confirmation and proof" of, specifically in relation the time period from November 12, 2005 though November 29, 2007 when I began, to quote Jack Meligan "CRITICIZING THE FACTORING INDUSTRY and CRUSADING AS THE
MAN WHO WOULD CLEAN UP OUR INDUSTRY", I have requested that the defamatory blog be removed. Jack Meligan has had more than enough time to supply proof when he claimed to have it 9 months ago. I have done everything in my power to give Jack Meligan every opportunity to correct his mistake. The matter is now in the hands of my attorneys.
My firm, 4structures.com, LLC, is one of only two in the structured
settlements/settlement planning/litigation recovery management space
that has a published policy on factoring. Should anyone reading a blog about me with the Headline "Structured Settlements-Plaintiff Loyal Structured Settlement Company" feel free to contact me to discuss any questions you have about my business practice. I can be reached toll-free at 888-325-8640.
