The National Structured Settlements Trade Association (NSSTA) announced June 8, 2007 that Chris Diamantis of Millennium Settlements has been named President-Elect of the NSSTA. He will serve as President for a year after Henry Strong steps down at the next NSSTA Annual meeting. Diamantis’ election marks the second time in recent years where the head of a "plaintiff focused" brokerage firm has been named President of NSSTA. While "fresh off tee" former SSP President Jack Meligan opines in his video that the Society of Settlement Planners (SSP) is the premier plaintiff association, the NSSTA counts more members that focus on plaintiffs than the entire 23 person professional SSP membership. And a number of SSP members are dually registered as members of both organizations.
The National Structured Settlements Trade Association advances the use of structured settlements as a means of using periodic payments to resolve personal injury claims, workers compensation, and other types of claims. Its members come from a wide variety of backgrounds, client focus and practice mix, which fosters a balance and interaction among its members that is often helpful to facilitate the resolution of claims.
