A Connecticut factoring company's advertising statement should annoy structured settlement brokers, settlement planners, judges and trial lawyers…

The statement "StructuredSettlement-Quotes(dot)com has become the #1 factoring brokerage company in the industry due to the vast amount of money that we provide for our clients". SSQ, which is the butt of the SS4R post "Nightmare on Rockland Street", is clearly a strategic target to be zeroed in on for clearing up the mess of "mistaken identity".
  1. You have a company whose very name thumbs its nose at insurance commissioners all over the country.
  2. You have a company whose very name falsely implies to consumers what they DON'T do.
  3. You have a company through its name and its deliberate false association with factoring is attempting to hijack your "brand".
  4. And you have company which can't seem spell "annuity" correctly which appears to be in bed with JG Wentworth. "Birds of a feather"… and so forth.

For example, StructuredSettlement-Quotes(dot)com cannot give you a structured settlement quote in Connecticut.

StructuredSettlement-Quotes(dot)com does not appear to be registered with the Connecticut Secretary of State, even though Connecticut consumers are subjected to its advertising.

How about in your state readers? Should companies be allowed to incorporate or register names that falsely imply what their business does NOT do?
Where else would this be permitted under the consumer protection statutes?

Repeat after me:

StructuredSettlement-Quotes Are NOT Structured Settlement Quotes!
StructuredSettlement-Quotes Are NOT Structured Settlement Quotes!
StructuredSettlement-Quotes Are NOT Structured Settlement Quotes!
