Tearscape Plundering

I received a call earlier this week from someone with a SAFECO (Symetra) annuity. She told me that she received the "blitz" letter from Clearscape Funding Corporation which prompted her to call them.

She was given a quote to sell approximately $60,000 of rights to future structured settlement payments for approximately $29,000. How much did she need I asked? She said $1,000!  Then why in the world did Clearscape Funding Corporation (Symetra) give her a quote to sell all of her rights to future structured settlement payments?

That was purely irresponsible from Clearscape. That's not funding, it's plundering!

Fortunately I managed to talk the caller out of selling her entire future nest egg to satisfy a current need of $1,000 by educating her on alternatives.
