Splogs (spam weblogs) are a metastasizing  "cancer" that affects the consumer experience in getting to relevant information about structured settlements quickly. We have two enemies the predatory advertising practices of certain factoring companies and the sploggers that provide nothing original or useful. I came across an interesting piece on www.jayweintraub.com which highlights this problem, gives a unique prospective and shows that is not unique to our industry.

Jay Weintraub reports in his post 8Bestsites: Robbing Peter to Pay Paul that in less than a month, 8bestsites.com has jumped from zero traffic to what Alexa reports is almost 15 million page views per day. They have a traffic rank that places 8bestsites higher than sites with seven-figure user bases and those receiving millions in funding. Jay reports something that I have observed which is that the "cells" who are splogging are taking advantage of anonymity now offered by Domain Registrars. On the one hand this anonymity is supposed to prevent or reduce spam emails to the domain registrants (as a selling point to using that registrar). The irony is that these "splog cancer cells" are allowed to propagate in stealth mode.
