Annuity.Org misled readers and did a disservice to both consumers and the structured settlement industry by its untimely and false reporting about forgery in a headline that “117 Forged Structured Settlements Were Uncovered in a New York State Investigation”. The October 9, 2015 headline actually referred to the forging of structured settlement transfer orders by Thomas Rubino, a former paralegal for the New York City Personal injury law firm of Paris & Chaikin. Mr. Rubino DID NOT forge structured settlements.

Annuity.org is a shill for National Association of Settlement Purchasers member company, CBC Settlement Funding, which effectively profits off leads generated off the bogus Annuity.org information. If only Annuity.org Staff Writer Catherine Byerly, a self proclaimed “content marketing princess” NOT a credentialed structured settlement expert. simply made a teaspoon of effort to read one article she might have done a better service to consumers than to contribute the false and misleading headline published and still appearing on Annuity.org. Byerly’s LInkedin profile says her primary focus is the intricacies of the secondary annuity market. She should start by reading IRC 5891, understand its significance. and be prepared to answer the following questions
