What a coincidence! Reliance Funding's Bethesda offices were burgled on July 6, 2016,  the exact same day Reliance Funding was served in a Maryland Class Action Lawsuit alleging fraud against Baltimore City black lead paint victims.

According to a July 20, 2016 press release by the Montgomery County Police, on Wednesday, July 7, 2016,  police officers responded to the Reliance Funding office located at 6900 Wisconsin Avenue Bethesda MD, for a burglary that had just been discovered by an employee.  The investigation determined the suspect entered the building when a cleaning crew member opened the front door for him.  Once inside the building, the suspect had access to the individual offices and investigators are working to determine what property was stolen.

The Montgomery County police posted the surveillance video from the burglary on YouTube in the hope that someone can identify the suspected perp.

Reliance Funding is essentially Access Funding's reincarnation.  So what was the Reliance Funding burglarthere looking for at 6900 Wisconsin Ave.?  What did the Reliance Funding burglar take?  How does this impact discovery in the pending criminal and legal cases where Reliance Funding and Access Funding are defendants?  Stay tuned.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect or has information about this burglary is asked to contact the 2nd District Investigative Section at 240-773-6710.  Tipsters can also call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477) or enter a tip online. Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information provided to them that leads to an arrest and/or indictment for this felony crime

What's the Difference Between Robbery and Burglary?

Many of us played "cops and robbers" as kids. There were toy guns when we said "stick em up".  Edna Wright and The Honey Cone got in right in their song " Stick Up (Highway Robbery, it's  a felony, heartbreak in the first degree…". The essential  difference is the use or threat of force.
