On August 16, 2007 I received the following email from Sian Owen of Strategic Capital "dismayed" that I had "lumped them in with JG" Wentworth in my post "Orwellian Discourse Fails to Tip Scales" (which was incorrectly quoted in her email as "Overall Discussion Fails to Tip Scales".

To which I responded:
"Suggest you rethink the attached page* which has been on the table for over a year. The page needs to be re -crafted to state structured settlement factoring quote and not contribute to mistaken identity by implying in search results that Strat Cap is licensed in any state or can deliver structured settlement quotes. As the term "structured settlement" is defined in the United States Internal Revenue Code we both know that is NOT what Strat Cap is delivering.
If you can supply statistics on the contest** that was held 3 years ago as to how many years prior to 3 years ago the contest was held, the number of leads Strat Cap obtained from that contest and how many of those were converted to consummated ss factoring deals I will consider adding a codicil to my post on same. I would also indicate that the contest was not repeated."
To which Sian responded"
Comment:
It will be a positive development if Strategic Capital (and any other remaining factoring companies) stop posting web pages that imply directly or indirectly that they deliver structured settlement quotes. It will also be interesting to see what the statistics are on people persuaded to contact this company, to sell their structured settlement payment rights to Strat Cap, because of the chance to go to Hawaii.
** Strat Cap was offering a chance to win a trip to Hawaii for people who factored with them which I blogged about on March 20, 2007. Read about it by clicking
