It must be written somewhere in the book of business development and customer retention that when you switch companies you promptly send your clients and prospects a letter with your new contact information. This writer is aware of someone in our industry whose "clients" continue to contact his or her old company almost 2 years later because of obviously insufficient follow up. It's just bad business and really makes you wonder how well this individual (or their staff) follows up in other aspects of his or her business.
After 2 years, assuming it has notified the terminated individual of the problem, is the old company obligated to forward any leads? Any thoughts from our readers?
