In the years preceding the popped dot com bubble everyone and their sister was calling themselves "web consultants" and "web design experts". We all know now what happened next.
In recent years there has been a proliferation of unqualified folks calling themselves structured settlement experts and structured settlement brokers. What annoys me is that misinformation produced by these morons has to be addressed to mitigate their perversion of a valuable industry. On observation many of them appear to be computer geeks working for their own or others search engine optimization companies with the goal being high search engine rankings for their web pages filled with pay per click advertising. Many of the articles they write are not well researched or even not researched at all. Many of them do not have any idea of the damage they are doing to victims who read their drivel.
Christopher M. Knight , of Depere Wisconsin, on his "Top7Business" asks and "attempts" to answer the question " what is a structured settlement?" in a piece that comes up on a yahoo search of "structured settlement quotes". His attempt to answer is an abject failure and shows a substantial ignorance.
Christopher M. Knight asks and answers: What is a structured settlement? It's a term that is usually associated with a service provided to people who win the lottery, get an inheritence (sic) or have a long-term annuity that they would like to sell for instant cash now. It may help you get out of debt faster even though the downside is the high commission paid to the provider of the structured settlement. When in doubt, consult a lawyer that specializes in this type of financial law.
Structured Settlements 4 Real: Christopher is dead wrong in his answer. The correct answer to "what is a structured settlement?" is found on the 4structures.com web site or on a host of other websites, as well as in Internal Revenue Code. Christopher M. Knight does not hold an active insurance license in his home state of Wisconsin. He is not an expert on the subject. He is a neither member of the National Structured Settlement Trade Association, or any other trade association in the settlement planning industry, nor a Certified Structured Settlement Consultant, nor a structured settlement broker, nor a structured settlement consultant or expert on the subject. Judging from his answer it is clear that he neither consulted any seminal treatise on the subject, nor viewed any of the websites of anyone who is actually in the structured settlement industry, nor consulted anyone or is actually in the structured settlement industry.
Christopher Knight fails to take his own advice to consult a lawyer that specializes in this type of law or his content would have been accurate.
Writers like Christopher M. Knight are a dime a dozen today. Chris, belt up dude and have some pride in what you write! If you don't know what you are talking about and you don't know where you are going with it, you nay not like the response.
