Structured Settlements 4Real®Blog 2026

Huliq.com reports that Peachtree Settlement Funding announced its "6th term placement of structured settlement receivables, which brings total placements of structured settlements to more than $600 million for this asset class". BUT DOES ANY BODY GET IT?

THIS IS A COMPANY, from what I’ve heard, THAT IS OFTEN ONE OF THE LEAST COMPETITIVE ON STRUCTURED SETTLEMENT FACTORING DEALS. While some others may have single digit discount rates, purportedly Peachtree will not accept a deal unless it’s in the high teens. Great for investors, sucky for the tort victim.

Huliq states that "according to Peachtree’s Chief Capital Markets Officer, Hasham Malik, “Peachtree has long recognized the need for multiple sources of permanent financing. Earlier this year we established a permanent capital vehicle for the purchase of structured settlement payments and annuities and locked in financing rates that were highly attractive. Given the tempestuous nature of the asset backed markets we chose to use this vehicle for our term financing. We are very pleased with the execution achieved as a consequence.”

Fortunately for tort victims who have the patience and take the time to exhaust all other options before considering factoring with a competent financial planner, settlement planner or adviser, there are more competitive choices out there. Furthermore in my opinion, unless Peachtree chooses to be part of them, factoring exchanges will help make Peachtree Settlement Funding less relevant.

Some astute observer posted this comment on the huliq.com website earlier today:

"Great to know that $600 million that was supposed to provide guaranteed payments to injured and financially needy people has been purchased from them at a discount and sold to professional investors. I’m sure the immediate cash has more than made up for the fact that these people now have no financial security."
